Pomada

Gin has been made on the island of Menorca since British occupation but has become a symbol of life on the Mediterranean.The Pomada is the classic drink of the island, typically made with a lemon soda and fresh herbs. We've decided to improveupon the simple classic by boosting the aromatic basil and mint, using fresh lemon juice and also bringing some island vibes, in the shade of a cocktail umbrella. The unique Gin de Mahón still shines through in this summer refresher.

Gin de Mahón, Basil, Mint, Fresh Lemonade

RECIPE FOR COCKTAIL

This  cocktail is built in the glass (no shaking required!). In a rocks (sangria)  glass, combine the following:        

1 lemon wedge    

5 mint leaves  

5 basil leaves    

1oz basil syrup    

Combine the above ingredients  and muddle briefly

Add:    

1.75oz Xoriguer Gin de Mahón    

1 oz fresh lemon juice

Top  with soda water (approx 2.5oz) and ice    

Stir vigorously with a bar  spoon to incorporate ingredients and chill    

   

Garnish: cocktail  umbrella!
